Gid-Facetings

The gid (great icosidodecahedron) is made of 12 pentagrams and 20 triangles. The edges of the gid can be connected by pentagrams (first number), triangles (second number) and decagrams (third number). Thus 7 polyhedra are created, which are grouped in the following way: Four of them have 5-fold resp. 3-fold pyramidal symmetry, the remaining three figures are icosahedral. These are the great icosahemicosahedron (geihid), the great dodecahemidodecahedron (gidhid) and the gid.
